Jack Brailsford, Jordan Donaldson, Frazer Huntley, Robbie Dalgleish, Fraser Wallace, Stuart Gray and Ian Brown are the new NKRA Scottish Champions for 2010.
After a mixed weather weekend at Larkhall, for the final Scottish Regional round, the rain dried away for the actual racing on Sunday.
In Cadet Comer Jack Brailsford and Jamie Frazer continued their series –long competition by sharing the points. However the results in the earlier rounds gave the overall to Brailsford.
Jordan Donaldson has been unbeatable for most of the year in cadet Honda and a clean sweep at this last round gave him the Championship from Samuel McKenzie.
A similar story for Grampian’s Frazer Huntley who has become the Scottish Champion in Minimax.
Junior Blue has been an extremely competitive class throughout 2010. Here a true Champion has risen from the group. Robbie Dalgleish has claimed the Scottish title without dropping a single point along the way. Callum Miller finished runner-up despite a poor final round. His earlier rounds being strong enough to carry him through ahead of Blair Campbell and Neville Parrott.
Douglas Simpson had for the whole of 2010 lead the main Scottish class, namely formula Blue. However, this final round, by an extreme of fortunes, allowed Fraser Wallace to take the crown at the last grasp. If ever there is a driver capable of racing to the flag for the results it is Fraser Wallace the new 2010 Scottish Champion. Despite a disastrous final round Douglas Simpson finished runner-up, a no-mean feat in itself, considering the level of Competition. These two were well clear of Calvin Watson, Alan Young and Stephen Philip who claimed the remaining title positions.
Stuart Gray who finished 7th overall has taken both the Master and Veteran Scottish titles. Ian Brown finished 2nd in the Master group with Steve Barlow the Veteran runner-up Brown, in turn, has won the Scottish Top weight Championship, also from Steve Barlow.
Craig Findlayson is the lone Scottish Champion for Rotax Max and no doubt looking forward to the Grande Finals for some competition.
The Junior Blue and Formula Blue grids now ascend up to Golspie this weekend for their last Challenge round, before everyones’ thoughts turn to the Grande Finals at the end of August.
